During the academic year 2017/18 and 2018/19, the Pilot Programme organises student and teacher education workshops in secondary schools through Po Leung Kuk. Chamber Solving Game will also take place during summer 2018 and 2019. The activities could allow students to learn the ample job functions and positions in the insurance industry, as well as to enhance their understanding towards the risk management sector. Details of the game and school workshops are as follows:
Chamber Solving Competition 2019
Target: | Senior Secondary School Students (S.4 to S.6) and Tertiary Students |
Participants: | 3 to 4 students per team |
Date of competition: | 27/7/2019 – 4/8/2019 |
Time of competition: | 12:00 nn – 9 pm (60 minutes per round, including a 45-minute game and a 15-minute briefing ) |

Participating teams can select a timeslot within the date and timeframe of the competition. In the game, each participant plays a different role, including underwriter, claim manager, risk manager and actuary. Within a tailored story setting, the team needs to search clues and use the abilities of different roles to solve the mysteries in order to escape from the chamber within a time limit and win a prize! The better the team understands the job functions and scope of the roles, the more effective the team could solve the mysteries. |

A Life Planning Seminar for teachers and Parent-Teacher Associations of secondary schools to learn about the career and job prospects in the risk management sector – one of the most promising industry in Hong Kong that offers plenty of opportunities for career advancement and progression.

The Public Education Programme entrusted Cyberport to organise the “Inter-School Innovation Competition on Insurance Technology: Life Can Be Insured”in Sept to Nov 2018. The competition aims to raise students’ awareness on career opportunities and career path in the insurance industry, and to inspire innovation and develop the problem-solving skills in insurance and related technologies.
The competition comprises the secondary division and the tertiary division. Students of the secondary division are required to develop a mobile app, game or platform to provide users with either basic concepts of insurance or the industry prospect, whereas a hackathon will be held for the tertiary division to develop InsurTech solutions to tackle pain points of the insurance industry.
